We just finished watching the movie Aladdin. My daughter really loves this movie. Well, I cannot blame her because she is such a huge fan of Princess Jasmine. Princess Jasmine is the princess of that kingdom. The setting is in Middle East, if I was right, it was set in Arabia. Princess was the princess and she is a bit feisty and independent despite being the only daughter of her father. She is feisty enough that her pet is nothing less than a Siberian tiger. She is feisty but only to the bad guys who wished to gain power and marry her. She is a true woman of conviction. Jasmine is adorned with all the good things in life. She had the best food, the best dress, the best bed, the best lamp, and the best table, the best of everything.
On the other hand a guy named Aladdin, lass from the kingdom is her opposite. He does not have much of everything. He only has this monkey who keeps him company. When Aladdin finally got hold of a magic lamp, everything changed.
The magic lamp has a genie that would grant him three wishes. The genie went with Aladdin in his quest for the best thing in life, love. He was able to change his status from being this lass who never had a name in society, not even food to eat to this prince who wanted to ask the hand of his princess. And so the story went and of course they fell in love and had a happy ever after. It was really a great story that was made possible by the genie that lived in a magic lamp.
Well I do not have a magic lamp. My daughter who is such a huge fan of the movie would want me to give her one but of course a real magic lamp with a genie inside is nowhere to be found.
Instead I just bought a lamp which looks really, really nice. It is an Arabian inspired lamp. My daughter was at first hesitant but then, she liked it eventually when she saw that the lamp looked exactly like that of Jasmines.
The lamp is my daughters favorite. She placed it beside her bed. The lamp looks pretty nice in her room which is of course inspired by the movie. All her toys which included figures of characters from the movie, dolls and cushy stuffed toys looked pretty well blended with the lamp.
I am no queen and I could never give my daughter all the best stuff there is of the world. Maybe there is not much to give her; she is quite a happy kid. Though she dreamed of becoming like princess Jasmine, she never complained about not having as much material things.
I just hope that she finds someone as good as Aladdin. I hope that person, maybe he would never have the magic lamp my daughter wishes, would be able to make her happy.
