Wellness

There are millions of people each day who think to themselves: “I want to know how to get rid of belly fat.” The problem is that the solution they are looking for seems to be EVERYWHERE. Every magazine cover at the supermarket seems to have a new “scientific breakthrough” that promises to help them lose all the weight they want to with little effort. There are countless diets and workout programs that all have some magical fast way to lose weight.

While some of these may have quality information, the one thing that will always help you lose weight fast is having a solid nutrition program. You can exercise all you want to, but there is an old saying that states “you cannot out train a bad diet”. It is certainly common knowledge that you need to eat right to lose weight fast, but it always helps to be reminded that this is where you should START. If you change your diet around so that you are eating the right foods at the right times and you can do it consistently, then you pretty much have the weight loss game won.

This article is going to focus on some of those important nutrition principles that you need to start doing as soon as possible. The days of doing “1 meal per day” to lose weight are over. Forget about starving yourself through sheer will power. Its time you see that the fast way to lose weight comes from eating the right kinds of food more often and in the right portion sizes.

Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are great foods because they are not very calorie dense. If you eat a whole plate full of broccoli you will feel very full afterwards, but the total number of calories might only be around 150. This is how you can eat MORE food and still take in LESS calories. Fruits are the same way. Both fruits and vegetables also have tremendous nutritional value. Just be sure to base each meal around protein, add some fruits and vegetables, and you will really be on the fast track to losing weight.

Remember to put your diet FIRST

Exercise is great. It gets you that “toned” look, it gets your stronger, it helps you burn calories, prevents chronic diseases, and much more. But from a weight loss perspective, the scale is not going to move significantly until the items on your grocery list do. You can work your butt off in the gym but if you are eating the wrong foods you will quickly negate all your hard work.

Eat “healthy fats”

Some foods have fat in them that are actually healthy. Foods that are deep fried or are heavily processed have fat that is horrible for you. Other foods such as salmon, tilapia, and grass fed beef all have healthy fatty acids AND protein too. This makes them very nutritious in more ways than one and they are also very tasty when prepared to your liking.

Eating right to lose weight does not have to be a challenge. When you get this part down you will find yourself reaching your weight loss goals faster than any other method. There are lots of different diets out there that all tell you something different, but they are really all based on the same concept: eat better foods at the right times. Remember that ANY diet will work if it involves taking in fewer calories than you currently are. You could start eating 500 calories per day of nothing but potato chips and you will lose weight, but that doesn’t necessarily make it a permanent or healthy way of doing so.

But you want to lose weight and be HEALTHY while doing it. That is why eating good proteins, fruits, vegetables, fiber, etc. will help you lose weight and become a healthier person in the process. Be diligent and if possible, have someone else go through the process with you. This is how you get rid of belly fat. Good luck!
