It can be very romantic to have your wedding in winter, especially when it is very close to the Christmas and New Year. Of course there can be a problem for such a wedding since some of your friends and relatives may be on vacation during this peak season for traveling. However, it can still be sweet and romantic if you are going to hold a relatively small wedding and you big day will be a lot more memorable if it is held in winter.
If you are really going to hold a small wedding, only your close friends and relatives will be invited. In this case you can really celebrate your wedding with Christmas together and thus make your wedding less formal. A less formal one does not necessarily mean a less memorable one. In fact your guests will also be amazed since it is held like a Christmas party. You can enjoy the intimacy and time with your guests since there may be only 15 to 20 guests all together.
Considering the wedding invitation, you should also try to make one which is related to your big day, the winter theme or the Christmas theme. You may prefer a white color card in order to match the idea of winter. Besides this perfect idea of white color, I will also suggest a more colorful card, which is in red and green. This is very classic for Christmas cards but can be very contemporary as the color themes of a wedding invitation card.
Besides the color, you may also think of other ornaments to decorate your card. Of course these ornaments will be related to both your wedding and the season. Snowmen and angels can certainly be perfect ornaments for the decoration of your invitation. Snowflakes can also be something you put into your card. If you do not want to just print these ornaments on your card, you can certainly buy these ornaments from your local stores and apply them on to your wedding invitations.
On the other hand, drawings and pictures depicting the idea of winter wedding can also be perfect. For example, you can hire an illustrator to create an image for you. In the image, it is on a peaceful night with beautiful stars in the sky. Your spouse and you will be standing at the center, with the gowns and dresses on. There are also angels, as well as Santa Clause flying around and this can become a really special and unique wedding invitation.
Apart from the design of the card, you should also put some efforts on the wordings on the card. As discussed before, your wedding will be a less formal one. The wordings can also be something more interesting. You should try to make up your own words in order to make it more unique. Because you will only invite 25 to 20 guests, you can write different wordings for different guests such that the wedding invitation can be personalized to each of your guest.
