Is it Hard to Buy a New Car During the Credit Crunch?

As we all know the credit crunch has hit almost every country around the world and every industry, and it does not look like it will be getting better any time soon. This being said there are a variety of benefits that people can get from the current financial crisis and buying a new car is one of them.

For a long time only the rich and wealthy have been able to afford the best cars, they have for so many years been driving around with people watching from a distance with envy. But that all changed when the finance agreements came out. As long as you had a good credit score you could get any car that you wanted on finance and gradually, but slowly pay it off.

But as you know we are now in the midst of a financial downfall and a lot of the finance companies are becoming very cautious on whom they give deals to. This ultimately leaves the low earners struggling to get themselves a vehicle again.

But you should not worry too much as if you have ever heard the saying that “It’s a buyers market”, then it is totally true on this occasion. Garages are struggling just as much as anyone during these difficult times, infact they could be struggling that extra bit more than anyone else.

People at the moment are holding back purchasing the smallest of things such as visiting a restaurant or buying a coffee at lunch, so think about how garages must be feeling at the moment, when they are trying to shift a handful of vehicles.

Now is the best time to buy for one of two reasons, firstly cars are selling at very low prices at the moment, not to mention that you can and should be able to haggle the price with salesmen. Salesmen usually like to make a hefty profit on every car they sell, so they buy for a little and sell for a lot more. But because they are struggling to swing the vehicles I am sure that with a little bargaining they will let the vehicle go for a lot less.

The second advantage is that new vehicles are much more efficient on your wallet; they guzzle less fuel and are better for the environment. So if you are looking to grab a new vehicle then now is the best possible time to dip into your hard earned savings and make an investment.
